This Moment

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Right Now...

Right now I'm...

• Noticing the first signs of Spring as puddles form on our sidewalk.

Dreaming, still, of apple blossoms, budding tulips, and the beginnings of our new little garden.

• Wondering where in my home I should hang the floral embroidery hoops I found at the antique mall earlier this week.

• Sipping a tall glass of water, with lemon of course.

• Planning on going for our first bike ride of the year this weekend!

• Seeing fresh flowers sprinkled throughout my home.

• Thinking about starting up my Etsy shop again soon.

• Feeling lucky to have been given the complete new line of Pura- 100% natural botanical tinctures created by my lovely and ever so talented friend, Lane. Everything she makes is delectable.

• Smelling hints of peppermint and lavender.

• Looking forward to another acupuncture treatment tomorrow night.

• Reading up on crafty/science type projects to do with my boy. This book is one of my favorites.

• Wanting tacos for dinner.

• Hoping to get my sewing machine fixed tomorrow morning.

Finding the pre-nap story time to be very helpful in getting Linus to fall asleep easily.

Relishing in this quiet moment as a slumbering Linus, cuddled up next to me, begins to stir.

Loving my littles. We had so much fun celebrating Jedi's 4th birthday today. Jedi came dressed as Darth Vader, Sadie sung Happy Birthday to him perfectly, which surprised both my mom and I, and they decorated Easter egg cookies. It was a good day.

• Wishing you all a beautiful evening filled with happiness and love. May the force be with you.

Happy Birthday Jiggy Biggy!

I can't believe you're four! I have lot's of fun things planned for you today and we're so excited to see you. We love you so much, you little goober.

Lemon + Water

It's true! I've been hearing about the various health benefits of drinking lemon water in the morning for quite some time and, since my mom gifted me this great juicer, I've finally made it into a little morning ritual. It's so easy! Give it a try.

In love with my littles...

They kill me! I just love them so much. When they all stuck their feet up together at the same time for that bum picture, it was so cute I could barely breath. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to know them. They're growing so fast... Jedi is just the coolest little dude. He's so excited about his birthday. He talks about it every day. He's going to be 4 on March 28th. What the what!? Sadie's become the most hilariously sweet and stubborn little girl. She's constantly surprising me with new words and sometimes if I'm lucky I can catch her singing songs to herself. Currently her favorite songs to sing are Happy Birthday and the Star Wars theme. Jedi's been teaching her well. And my boy, Linus... He's become obsessed with painting. He loves it. My house is filled with beautiful art now and I'm trying to figure out a good way to display it all. He's also been working on his letters and number to prepare for his first day of preschool, which he couldn't be more excited about. He loves to do his "homeworks" and he often let's us know how ready he is for school by pointing out his big boy undies and filling up his back pack with snacks and books! I'm getting more and more excited about him starting school now, too. I was pretty nervous at first, but now that I see just how excited he is about it, I'm feeling much better. After receiving his first school newsletter the other day I've found myself planning out snacks,  buying playdough filled eggs for him to hand out at the Easter party, and picking out his first day of school outfit! I've honestly been looking forward to this stuff since before I was ever even pregnant. It's so fun! His first day is on April 2nd. Just around the corner... I hope I can say the same about Spring. It's currently snowing here.  Edmonton... seriously?

Happy Spring!

It's officially Spring and although our front yard obviously didn't get the memo, I'm definitely feeling it. Evan and I spent a large part of last weekend cleaning the house. I have a vase of tulips on my bedside table. Easter themed art is on my fridge. Sunshine warms our breakfast table. Chirping birds and Linus kisses wake me up each morning... Friends, life is good. I'm really looking forward to seeing the tulips I planted begin to bloom and I couldn't be more excited about plotting our little vegetable garden. I'm also hoping to plant an apple tree for Linus and we're thinking about possibly painting the exterior of our house...If we can agree on a color. Oh, I love this season. Sometimes I even think I might like Spring more than Fall... I just don't know.

I thought I would share some of my Spring/Garden inspiration. All of these images below were found via pinterest. Are you on Pinterest?
P.s. Happy Birthday to our beautiful friend Cori. We Love you!

Every morning...

...I wake up to this boy saying, "Mommy? Wake up! It's a beautiful day and the sun is up. Let's go eat a waffle."

How did I get so lucky?

I'm back!

Hello hello! I'm finally popping in to share a few photos of our trip. We've been back home for over a week now, but I've been taking a lot of time away from my computer. I needed to focus on other things. De-stress, re-vamp, and soak in this little boy of mine who just happens to be starting pre-school in one month! Also, social media overwhelms me and the weather has been so lovely here it feels like crime to spend my free time inside on the computer. It really truly feels like Spring and I couldn't be more excited! I do enjoy updating this space though, and I hope to do so more often. I'm going to start by making up for the last two "this moment" posts I missed. Those posts are really important to me. So I'll be back to do that within the next day or two. In the mean time here's what our Hawaiian vacation looked like according to my iphone. Minus the throw up and pedialyte freezies galore!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It's Sunday night and as Linus said, "It was a beautiful day, but it's over now and it's time for us to go to sleep." Or in my case, watch The Walking Dead!

I recently stumbled across photographer Myoung Ho Lee's series entitled 'Tree'. He separates solitary trees from the rest of their natural environment by framing them against white canvas backdrops. I thought I would share these images because I love the illusion he create, how his photos play with scale and perception. I was also drawn to the variety of seasons portrayed. Oh, how I long for Spring.
