Right Now...

We had a pretty wonderful weekend. Spent a lot of time outdoors. Farmers markets and craft fairs. A birthday party and smores. Bike rides and family dinners. Tantrums and books on raising toddlers... May flew by as usual... June is right around the corner! Today I plan on soaking in this last day of May- my favorite month.

Right now, I am...

• marveling at my little Linus who turned 2 last week!

• being challenged- and entertained- by the music Jedi and Linus are making.

• smelling the lilac scented breeze through my bedroom window.

• noticing the watercolor paint splattered all over the baseboards.

• feeling warm and wet on my knee all of the sudden... yep, Sadie peed on me again.

• listening to kindlewood.

• calming a teary eyed boy.

• making a few new necklaces to add to the shop.

• finishing my cup of coffee.

• reading this article and finding it very interesting.

• Pinning this for Sarah Jackson.

• rejoicing over my lovely little garden!

• seeing flowers bloom every day.

Happy Birthday, Linus!

Happy 2nd birthday to my sweet boy! We set up the Thomas train table that my grandparents bought for him. It was a glorious surprise for him to wake up to. He was so excited. He screamed "THOMAS" as soon as he went down stairs, then turned around, touched my face with serious concentration and whispered "Wook, mummy. It's Thomas." Today we will play with Thomas the Train, visit the museum, splash in the puddles, eat pasta and broccoli, blow bubbles, read 'Hippos Go Berserk!' 20 times, finger paint and drink yummy fruit smoothies. Yep, my little guy knows how to party!
While he was sleeping last night I cuddled up close to him, put my head near his and looked at his sweet face and his tiny body. He's grown so much, yet he's still the same in so many ways: Soft milky skin, the most beautiful wide eyes I've ever seen, berry lips, huge head, tiny shoulders, diaper bum, and chubby feet. I'm the luckiest woman in the world to know this little guy. To spend every day with him. How did I get so lucky? He is so lovely and has such a sweet demeanor. He's so polite and considerate. He makes friends everywhere we go, happily helps me around the house, whispers to be quiet when someone is sleeping, asks to "please play chalk outside?". He's opened my eyes to all the wonders of the world. Things I cared nothing about have suddenly become so thrilling. Big buses and helicopters, worms and garden gnomes, cardboard boxes and hockey, spray parks and red slides! It's all become so new and exciting, seeing it through his eyes. Having him has been the most wonderful adventure. I am totally enamored and enchanted by him. He is my little man, my lovely little boy. I just can't believe this was 2 years ago today.

A Walk In The Park

Just another family stroll. We grabbed some bubbles, donned our jackets and explored the park. A perfect way to spend the day. Thankfully the skeeters left our boy alone this time.

My very first...

I was finally able to take home my very first pottery creation last week. I'm so pleased with the results! I had a really difficult time starting out on the wheel and this was the best I could do. I love it though and I've made a home for it on our bedside table. It's pretty perfect for one or two cut flowers.
I spend quite a bit of time practicing my throwing during each class and I've made quite a few bowls and a couple of honey pots since finishing this little vase. I'm looking forward to using a few of them as gifts! I plan on taking another pottery class after this one. I really love it and I'm just starting to get a feel for it all. The studios we work in are filled with all sorts of pretty and colorful pots. So much inspiration. I need plenty of practice and I have many tricks to learn, so I think I'll stick with it for a while longer. It's just so satisfying to finally get one right. A blob of clay has so much potential. The possibilities are endless right down to the various stains and glazes. I never really know how each piece will turn out. Oh, the anticipation! I can't wait to see how my latest pieces turned out.

May Flowers

There have been far too many sweet moments this week to share just one. We've been spending our days outside as the weather is warm and the flowers are blooming around us. We took a trip to the Enjoy garden centre a few days ago to pick up some seeds and plants for my little vegetable garden. I'm so excited about it. I would like to go back to pick up a few pretty flower baskets as well.



We had Sadie and Jedi over quite a bit this week. Oh I just love them! I babysat Ms. Buttons a couple of days ago and took her out and about with Linus and I. She became my baby for the day and Linus thought it was hilarious. He just kept laughing over the fact that she was coming with us everywhere. I guess he thought I would just leave her at some point. She is just the happiest little bub. Always smiling and babbling about something. She's very close to being able to crawl now. I really think it will be any day.







We've also been going for evening walks after dinner. It's been so lovely with all the blooming flowers. Now if only these stupid mosquitoes would bugger off. Our poor boy has like ten bites on his head and I feel so awful. They don't seem to bother him at all, but they look pretty terrible. Jedi has less bites than Linus, but he swells up like crazy. Notice his swollen cheek in the above photo... that was one mean mosquito.





My dad, step mom Hemsa and baby brothers, Elias and Zane are in town this weekend. I'm excited to see them. The boys have been promised a trip to Galaxy Land and then we'll be getting together for a little birthday celebration for Linus. His birthday is only six days away! I just can't believe it...
