Linus is reading...
Linus has been getting pretty into sitting on the potty. He no longer hates the idea of it and often asks to "pee pee a potty?". He has yet to actually go on the potty, but oh my does he ever try. He sits and sits and sits for long periods of time thanks to all of his very favorite books. Here are a few of the books we've been into lately. They've all been "flagged".
Once Upon A Potty by Alona Frankel- This is our all time favorite potty book. Linus loves to hear all about Joshua's body, his accidents and his potty success. The illustrations are pretty great, too.
Little Owl Lost by Chris Haughton- Little Owl has fallen from his nest and is lost on the ground. With the help of his new friend squirrel, little owl searches for animals that meet the description of Mama Owl. This is a sweet book with a comforting ending. Linus does such a good job at helping to find Mama Owl.
The Gift of Nothing by Patrick McDonnell- This might just be my favorite book. It has a beautiful moral, reminding the reader that the greatest gift is friendship, not things. And the puppy dog characters Mooch and Earl are so endearing and lovable. I highly recommend making this a part of your own library.
Harry The Dirty Dog by Gene Zion- A classic. Linus thinks it's hilarious how "yucky" Harry gets.
In A People House by Dr. Seuss- Pointing out the various household items in this book is ever so exciting!
Peppermint by Dorothy Grider- This book was mine when I was little and I love it based on pure nostalgia. Published in 1960, it tells the story of a filthy white kitten named Peppermint. She was unwanted by all the children except one little girl named Barbara who took her home. While trying to give the kitten a bath, Peppermint jumps into a bucket of blue dye instead, becoming the most beautiful and unique powder-blue kitten.
